Old Millington Winery was established by Carrie and Perry Welch in 2000, located just outside Memphis' metropolitan region near the city of Millington. The boutique-style winery, which is part of the Wine Trail of West Tennessee, is known for its annual seasonal summer concerts, considered to be one of the Memphis area's best destinations for catching regional music acts throughout the warmer months. Delicious classic wines and blends include the company's Crying Angel Red, an estate-grown Chambourcin varietal named for a memorial for a fallen area Civil War soldier. Seasonal fruit wines are also sold in Southern-style varietals such as plum, peach, and watermelon. Guests can taste any four of the company's wines for free without appointments during operating hours. Live music performances take place on Sunday afternoons during the spring and fall months, with beer and wine served on site.
