Review:

Cades Cove Cellars was originally founded in 1984 and has been operated by two generations of the Birkholz and Reed families ever since. The Townsend winery, which is accessible from the Gatlinburg area via Highway 321, is named in honor of the valley of the same name within Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which serves as one of the nation's most intact preserved pioneer homestead communities. Delicious red and white blends and varietals include wines produced with Zinfandel, Concord, Muscadine, and Seyval Blanc grapes. Free winery tastings are offered for all visitors at the winery's tasting room, which also showcases a viewing area to observe tank room and bottling line production operations. Special events hosted throughout the year at the winery include wine and painting parties and baked goods sales.
