Christian W. Klay Winery was Fayette County's first commercial winery at its opening in 1997, named in honor of founders Sharon and John Klay's young son. The winery is located on beautiful farm property formerly belonging to United States Senator William E. Crow, which has been transformed into one of the region's premiere special event venues. 15 acres of beautiful vineyards produce estate grapes for use in dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, and sweet varietals, including excellent blush, dessert, and rosé wines. Tastings and tours can be customized to meet visitor needs, including special tours and tasting sessions for large groups. Guests can also attend delightful special events such as the winery's Wine and Dine in the Woods farm-to-table dining experiences.
