Montauk Point State Park is a 862-acre park in Montauk, at the eastern end of Long Island in the Town of East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York. The park is home to the Montauk Point Light, which was completed on November 5, 1796. The lighthouse and Camp Hero were heavily fortified during World War I and World War II. The fort gun emplacements and concrete bunkers are still visible. Montauk Point State Park offers picnic tables, playground, a food concession, fishing, seasonal hunting, and numerous hiking and cross-country skiing trails. The park offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Block Island Sound. Visitors can watch the seals sun on the rocks offshore.
