The Oklahoma Frontier Drugstore Museum is located in a historic 1890 building that looks like an old-time drug store. It features an extensive collection of artifacts and memorabilia that tell the story about frontier pharmacies and early drugstores. The original collection was started by pharmacist Ralph Enix and several of his colleagues in the 1970s. They eventually established the Oklahoma Frontier Drugstore Museum, located in the Historic District of Guthrie. The Museum opened in 1992, and is managed by the Oklahoma Pharmacy Heritage Foundation. The Museum collections tell the story of pharmacy and medicine in the 19th and 20th centuries in Oklahoma and Indian Territories. The artifacts also follow the westward migration of pioneers, shopkeepers, families and other health care providers who lived in the frontier regions of the United States.
