For more than 2000 years the Chaco Canyon was home to an extremely advanced Puebloan civilization which was known for its amazing architectural designs, astronomy knowledge and artistic achievements. The area served as a hub for ceremonies, commerce and other cultural activities. Today you can learn all about this fascinating civilization at the Chaco Culture National Historic Park. You can join guided tours, go hiking and biking and enjoy night-time campfire talks. The park is also a brilliant place for star gazing and night sky programs. There is a campground inside the park which can accommodate tents and RV’s if you would like to stay overnight.
