Boca Grande is located on Gasparilla Island, one of Florida’s western barrier islands in the Gulf of Mexico. You can access the island by car from Fort Myers for a day of recreation and relaxation for the whole family. Besides enjoying the beaches, visitors to the island should not miss a tour of the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse, which was previously known as the Gasparilla Island Light Station and is the oldest structure on the island. The lighthouse has been guiding sailors since 1890 and now boasts an interesting museum and gift shop for visitors to enjoy. Other activities on the island include riding the scenic Boca Grande Bike Trail and visiting (and climbing) the newly-restored 1927 Gasparilla Light House.
