Review:

Much different than what you’ll come across at parks in Jacksonville’s downtown area or by the beach, Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park protects one of the largest contiguous coastal uplands that remain in the city. The uplands found at the park do so much for the local environment such as providing an important refuge for resident and migratory birds, ensuring the survival of aquatic animals and plants, and protecting the water quality of the St. Johns and Nassau rivers. You’ll be able to see an array of flora and fauna as you explore the park; visitors have even seen endangered wood storks and the threatened American alligator every once in a while. Other aspects include five miles of multi-use trails for hiking and biking and a canoe/ kayak launch.
