Review & FAQ:
Landon Park was originally established in 1925 and has since then expanded significantly in terms of size and features. The park is named after the Landon family who moved to the area in 1867; their daughter, Julia Landon, was a teacher at South Jacksonville’s first school and she remained there until her retirement in 1919. When the first high school was constructed, it was named Landon High School in her honor. As you walk the park grounds today, you’ll come across several beautiful aspects such as large magnolia and oak canopies as well as a breathtaking rose garden in the southwest corner.
