The Redstone Campground is located on a ridge overlooking the Crystal River. It is part of the 2.3 million acre White River National Forest which incorporates eight wilderness areas and 10 peaks above 14000 feet. The river is stocked with trout and the rock outcrops are home to Bighorn sheep and other alpine wildlife. The hike up Mt Sopris is 14.8 mile long, peaking at 12953 feet. There are 37 widely spaced campsites, suitable for tents, trailers and RVs. Seventeen of the sites have electricity hookups. The Valley of the Coal Miners is close by.
