The French Heritage Museum has had a long and interesting history; the building itself was built in the 1950s as a fire station and has, over the years, been a kindergarten and a health clinic. Hurricane Marilyn damaged the structure in 1995, but the Frenchtown Civic Organization lovingly restored and brought it back to its original glory.

Now, visitors can explore the public museum dedicated to the rich French culture and heritage found on the Virgin Islands. There are many displays and exhibitions of Virgin Island relics, French West Indian Crafts, and many other art and craft pieces preserved for visitors and future generations to enjoy.
