The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum showcases the world's largest collection of historical United States Marine Corps aircraft, featuring 48 historic aircraft used between World War II and the present day. The museum, which is located at San Diego's Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, serves as one of the Marine Corps' premiere command museums and displays a wide variety of artifacts related to the history of Marine Corps Aviation. Guests can view aircraft on display at the museum's Aviation Gallery or peruse exhibits related to the history of aviation art and military working dogs. Eight galleries also display artwork, uniforms, and artifacts related to Marine operations from WWII through the present day. Special events held throughout the year include Open Cockpits Days family events and Picnic With A Pilot lunches.
