Although it was built decades after most buildings in Balboa Park, the Fleet Science Center maintained the Spanish Renaissance-style of other museums along El Prado pedestrian walkway. Situated at the end of El Prado pedestrian walkway across from Bea Evenson Fountain, the Fleet Center is home to over 100 interactive science displays. Twelve permanent exhibits explore the relationship between science and man. Gallery of Illusions and Perceptions is one of the museum’s most popular exhibitions. Giant Dome Theater, the first IMAX theater in the world, provides a 3D, multisensory experience with regular shows. Galileo Café serves grab-and-go food, and North Star Science Store offers a range of gifts.
