Family-owned Wellington Cellars has a long reputation for producing estate wines from 100-year-old vines. After changing hands from one family to another in 2014, the new owners pared down to hand-crafted wines produced exclusively from the winery’s 24 acres. Wine enthusiasts will find vineyards with a range of grapes that include Cabernet, Chardonnay, Marsanne, Roussane, Sauvignon, Malbec, Grenache, and Merlot. There is also an old-vine Zinfandel that dates back to 1882. In 2019, the estate will open their renovated tasting room, plus a new barrel room. The goal is to produce French-Bordeaux to the tune of 3,500 cases annually, and educate the public via estate wine tasting tours.
