Stone Brewing Company is Southern California's largest brewery and the eighth-largest craft brewery in America, originally founded in 1996 to sell its flagship Stone Pale Ale. The world-class brewery has been credited with putting San Diego on the craft beer map with hop-forward, high alcohol content brews such as its Arrogant Bastard Ale and imperial, session, and flavored variants of its Stone IPA. Several physical locations of the company's World Bistro and Gardens restaurants are operated throughout the world, including a San Diego location at Liberty Station, housed within a former United States Navy mess hall. A J Street tap room also offers many of the company's signature brews on tap.
