Spread out over 1,136 acres and five small interconnected islands, Fort DeSoto Park is the largest park in the Pinellas County Park System. Its beaches are among the most beautiful in the country, but the park offers much more to visitors, especially families.

The five keys provide a home to a rich diversity of beach plants and other native vegetation, including dense mangroves, healthy wetlands, charming palm hammocks, and hardwood forests.

There are 328 species of birds that can be seen here, and endangered loggerhead turtles come to the keys to nest.

Kids can enjoy more than 7 miles of waterfront with fine white sand and calm waters for splashing.

The mangroves and wetlands are best explored in kayaks, and there are 15 picnic shelters for relaxing in the shade.
