The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, located in northwestern Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota, is protected by the National Park Service and preserves 252 miles of riverways. Part of the country’s original eight National Wild and Scenic Rivers, the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway is the largest of the scenic riverways on the eastern side of the Mississippi River. The upper part is a smallmouth bass nationally-renowned fishery, along with sturgeon, catfish, walleye, and other fishing opportunities. In addition to fishing, the scenic riverway is a great spot for other outdoor recreation activities, such as hunting, tubing, camping, boating, and canoeing.
