The Rock and River is a stone bench designed and created by a group of nine young summer school students between the ages of nine and twelve, along with help from their teacher, Amy Klein, and several other people in the community, such as Ranger Dale Cox with the National Park Service, staff from the Franconia Sculpture Park, and James Shoop, a local St. Croix Falls bronze sculpture artist. The bench features small bronze sculptures the students created in Shoop’s studio. The Rock and River provides a great spot for people to just sit and relax on the Gaylord Nelson Riverwalk.
