Found inside the historic 1829 Judd-Harris House, the Henry Sheldon Museum was established in 1882 to showcase the private collection of the historian it was named after. The permanent exhibits feature furniture and art from the 19th and 20th centuries, and although much of it is from Sheldon's original collection, the museum is constantly expanding. There's also a gallery that hosts a regularly rotating series of temporary exhibits, which typically feature various aspects of Vermont history or the works of local Vermont artists. The museum is open every day except for Monday and major holidays.
