No visit to Singapore would be complete without experiencing the Singapore River by bumboat. For hundreds of years the iconic rustic wooden bumboats (originally used to transport goods and cargo) have been plying the Singapore waterways in much the same way they do today. For an in-depth tour, you can hop aboard the 40-minute Tale of Two Quays River Tour, which will take you from Merlion Park and Marina Bay to Fullerton Jetty, sailing past key landmarks such as Boat Quay and Clarke Quay. Shorter boat trips are available using a river taxi and you can also book a private chartered scenic cruise. Both daytime and night cruises are available – the night cruise offers one of the best ways to see the lights of Singapore.
