The extensive Singapore Botanic Gardens cover a sprawling 82 hectares right in the heart of the city, where you can spend a few tranquil hours getting back to nature. You can choose from four walking trails (which vary from 40 to 90 minutes) – trail guides can be downloaded so that you can explore at your own pace and guided tours are available on Saturdays. There are many highlights to be discovered, including the wonderful National Orchid Garden (a destination in its own right), the Rain Forest, the Healing Garden, Palm Valley and Symphony Lake, and the Ginger Garden. The Fragrant Garden and the Scented Orchids Corner will amaze the senses, while younger visitors will love the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden.
