The Royal Palace of La Almudaina is a 10th-century Muslim fortress in the Alcázar of Palma, the capital city of Mallorca. Located just opposite Palma’s imposing Cathedral ‘La Seu,’ the Royal Palace of La Almudaina rests in a once strategic position high atop a cliff overlooking the Bay of Palma and is one of the capital’s main attractions.

Built in the Moorish style, the fortress was rebuilt in the Levantine Gothic style by King Jaume II when the Christians took possession of the island in the 13th century. Today, visitors can explore the fortress on guided or self-guided tours and soak up the magnificent grand rooms filled with period pieces and rich tapestries.
