The Ciudad Romana de Pollentia (Pollentia Roman Ruins) is a working archeological site in the north of Mallorca that was founded in 70 BC and features a Roman forum, an amphitheater, and an ancient residential area.
Located in the strong defensive position of Alcudia, which had a strategic advantage of being between the two ports of Alcudia and Pollenca, the ruins show the remains of what was once one of the most important cities in the Balearic Islands. Discovered by chance in the 16th century, the ruins are the most complete and significant archaeological site in Mallorca, and excavations continue today during July and August.
