Review & FAQ:
Discovered in 1900 by explorer Robert Peary, Kaffeklubben Island rests on the northern edge of Greenland. The island’s name translates to “Coffee Club” in honor of a group of native geographers who would often gather together. Eventually, the island was visited by scientists from around the world who worked to discover if wildlife could live on it. Since then, mosses, lichens, and arctic poppies have been found flourishing on the land. Gravel banks have also been found toward the northern portion of the island, although they often disappear under the sea quickly. Kaffeklubben Island can be reached by boat or helicopter.
