Originally home to the Dutch whale hunters, Oqaatsut now only holds 45 inhabitants. With no existing roads to travel along, all transport requires a boat within the small fishing village. This solitary area of Greenland presents an authentic village experience as the locals carry out their daily routine of fishing, cooking their catch, and spending quality time with their families. The midnight sun brings unlimited opportunities for each day, illuminating the skies above so that the spectacular views are always on show. A trip to the small village of Oqaatsut is not complete without a visit to the traditional souvenir shop.
