As the latest town in Greenland to achieve town status in 1986, Kangaatsiaq is a more recent establishment and does not attract many tourists, as of yet. Currently, the town does not have any accommodations for travelers. However, visitors can opt to stay in private accommodations among the beautiful multi-colored homes that create a colorful community. This hidden gem offers an authentic experience of a place that remains true to its roots. Nature waits for a discovery of the surrounding wildlife, home to an array of birds, reindeer, and foxes. Sea mammals are in their element under the deep blue seas of Kangaatsiaq, making this an ideal spot for whale-watching.
