The Old Town Hall, located on Hlavné Námestie, is one of the city’s most respected landmarks. The historic building came together during the 1200’s when a Romanesque house became a part of the city’s holdings. One by one building neighboring the house were bought and annexed by the city as well. The Old Town Hall is now a fascinating collection of four different palaces and houses that are filled with little surprises. The Renaissance courtyard with a gallery is the most beautiful section and dates back to 1581. The building also houses the Museum of the City History.
