Dreaming of tropical beaches, outback adventures, and glowing sunsets? Head to Broome! You'll find it on Western Australia’s remote Kimberley coast. You've probably seen camels on the beach at Cable Beach like in my cover photo for this article. I found that pearling history is in the air here. You will enjoy meeting friendly people and learning about the Aboriginal culture.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Broome is during the dry season from May to October. Days are sunny, humidity is low, and it’s perfect for beachgoing, boat tours, and sightseeing. The wet season (November to April) can bring heavy rains, but also dramatic storms and fewer crowds.
How to Get There
- By Air: Broome International Airport (BME) offers regular flights from Perth, Darwin, and seasonal routes from Sydney and Melbourne.
- By Car: A popular stop on an epic Kimberley road trip. The drive from Perth takes several days via the Great Northern Highway.
- By Bus or Coach: Greyhound Australia offers long-distance coach services to Broome from Darwin and Perth.
