There have been cabins offered for hire on this 65 acre site since 1942. The wooded River Haven Cabins property is situated on a bluff overlooking the River Frio, three miles southeast of Leakey. All the cabins have waterfront views and are ideal for birdwatching. The area is on the flight path of several species of migrating birds. There are numerous trails for hiking and mountain biking on site and in the surrounding areas. The Lost Maples Natural Area is nearby, which, due to its status, has restricted facilities. There are two small lakes, hiking trails and primitive camping sites in the park.
