Davis Mountains State Park, Texas is a spacious 2,709-acre state park located within the beautiful Davis Mountain range, near the city of Fort Davis. The lovely state park was originally deeded to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in the 1930s and developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, opened to the public in 1938. It is located adjacent to beautiful Fort Davis National Historic Site and makes for a great getaway destination for travelers looking to explore historic landmarks on a budget. Four miles of hiking trails are showcased throughout the park, which is also home to equestrian trails and campsites. Guests can stay at the park's lovely adobe-style Indian Lodge, constructed by the CCC, which showcases rustic guest rooms and suites.
