Surrounded by the vast Moshannon State Forest, the park conserves unique, natural environments and is home to a diverse array of fauna and flora, providing excellent bird and wildlife watching for nature lovers. Recreational activities in the park include hiking, mountain biking, boating, canoeing, fishing, and swimming in the 250-acre Black Moshannon Lake, which is fed by small streams and clear springs. Camping is available in the park with basic campsites and rustic self-catering overnight cabins.
