South Bass Island State Park is a 33-acre park set high up on the white cliffs of South Bass Island, with breathtaking views of Lake Erie. There is a wooded campground and a scenic lakeside picnic area, perfect for a quiet, peaceful day out in the nature. The park has a stone swimming beach with shelters, picnic tables, grills, a play area, and restrooms. Fishing and a small boat launch are also available. The park is known for its historic wineries, beautiful crystal caverns and fascinating limestone cliffs, and fun watersports on the lake. The park is accessible by ferry year around from Catawba Island or Port Clinton.
