Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill is an eclectic club-style restaurant that opened its first location in Miami in 2010, noted as a semifinalist for the prestigious James Beard Award the following year. Its second outpost was opened in Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood in 2017, showcasing intimate, stylish booth and bar seating and a central open-fire grill. Unique small plates are executed by head chef Timon Balloo, reflecting his mixed Indo-Chinese heritage and Trinidad background. A full raw bar offers seasonal oysters, king crab legs, and massive seafood towers, while an extensive sushi menu highlights specialty rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. Entrees include duck fried rice, whole-roasted branzino, and bone-in ribeyes prepared with polenta and mushroom demi-glace. Signature cocktails include rum-focused offerings, frozen drinks, and house sangria.
