The View Restaurant and Lounge is the only 360-degree-revolving rooftop restaurant in New York City, housed on the 48th floor of Times Square's famed Marriott Marquis hotel. The restaurant, which was opened in 1985 and designed by architect John Portman, makes one complete revolution each hour, showcasing the most iconic sights of Midtown Manhattan's skyline. Though the scenery is the restaurant's biggest draw for obvious reasons, delicious brunch, buffet, prix-fixe, and tasting menus are also worth the trek to Times Square, highlighting continental fare crafted from locally-sourced ingredients. One of Manhattan's most extensive wine lists also makes the restaurant a great alternative sightseeing date option to walking or cycling city tours.
