The Leopard is a traditional Southern Italian-style restaurant within the Upper West Side's acclaimed Hotel des Artistes, owned and operated by Paula and Gianfranco Sorrentino since 2011. The restaurant takes its cues from the culinary traditions of regions such as Calabria, Sardinia, Campania, and Sicily, remaking the hotel's famed Café des Artistes space into a showcase for everyday Italian dishes. Dishes highlight pasta plates, risottos, and specialties such as Sardinian fregula seafood stew. Delicious cocktails are available for pre-theater service for dates headed to shows at nearby Lincoln Center, with live jazz performances offered at weekend brunch service. The cafe is also a popular spot for A-list celebrity watching, known as a favorite hangout for celebrities such as Steve Martin and Woody Allen.
