Mugi Studio is a fine pottery studio and gallery in Manhattan's Upper West Side, originally opened as a working studio space in 1983 by a group of avant-garde potters. Since 2012, the studio has been operated by Outi Putkonen, who has expanded the facility's operations to include group field trips to notable pottery studios along the American East Coast. Visitors can view beautiful one-of-a-kind pottery pieces at the studio's gallery space, including many pieces that are available for sale at affordable rates. Throughout the years, the gallery has established a reputation as one of the Upper West Side's most unique places to buy wedding and housewarming presents. Adult pottery classes are offered throughout the year for participants of all skill levels, from novices to advanced pottery masters. Children's classes also teach fundamental principles of handbuilding and pottery throwing techniques.
