Review:

Birdland is an iconic jazz supper club located in Manhattan's Theater District, first opened in 1949 by entrepreneurs Morris and Irving Levy at a location near West 52nd Street. Throughout its initial tenure, the club attracted international jazz headliners such as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Harry Belafonte, and Thelonious Monk, noted for its famed Live at Birdland jazz music compilation albums. Since then, it has changed locations several times, now located within the Distirct's former New York Observer building. A full traditional supper club menu is served nightly, available before and during performances by top national jazz artists and bands. For visitors checking out the club after Broadway performances, half-price admission is offered to the club's late-night shows with valid ticket stub presentation.
