Open the first couple weekends of each month from April until November, Ward Hall in Georgetown, Kentucky is an antebellum plantation mansion built in the Greek Revival style. The main plantation house is twelve thousand square feet in size with Corinthian fluted columns measuring twenty-seven feet high.
In fact, Ward Hall is known as Kentucky’s grandest Greek Revival residence and one of the country’s best examples of a classical mid-nineteenth century building. Completed back in 1857 at an expense of $50,000, paid in gold, the mansion is where Sallie Ward hosted lavish balls and amassed a fortune through marrying four different millionaires.
