The Express Clydesdales Showroom and Barn, located in Yukon, Oklahoma, is home to wonderful black and white, big, powerful, refined draft horses named Clydesdale, after the place they are imported from, Clydesdale, Scotland. While at home, the horses attract thousands of tourists who come to meet them in their 1936 historic home. The barn is beautifully appointed with gleaming pine walls, elegant walnut trim and brass coach lights.

Express Clydesdales Showroom hosts a range events in the beautiful barn, including birthday parties, business meetings, baby showers, weddings, and more. From the barn loft, visitors have an expansive view of the rolling hills of Oklahoma farmland and the historic Chisholm Trail. On the road, the Express Clydesdales take part in various shows and events, pulling a stately stage coach specifically designed for Express. They also star in some of the world’s most famous parades like Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Tournament of Roses Parade, the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Kentucky Derby Pegasus Parade.

2. Yukon Oklahoma Czech Festival


Celebrate Czech heritage, enjoy traditional food, music, and cultural festivities.

The Yukon Oklahoma Czech Festival is a Yukon, Oklahoma traditional annual celebration of the town’s rich Czech heritage. Festivities take place on the first weekend in October, starting with a carnival in downtown Yukon. The day-long festival officially starts on Saturday morning. Thousands of locals and visitors line Main Street for one of Oklahoma’s largest parades.

After the parade, festivities moves to the Czech Building at 5th and Cedar street, with polka bands and traditional Czech and Slovak folk dance groups performances throughout the day. Volunteers from Oklahoma Czech Inc. offer a sample of delicious Czech traditional foods such as kolaches (cakes) and sausages. Dozens of arts and crafts booths and festival food vendors line up the streets of Yukon. At 4 p.m. is the coronation of the Oklahoma Czech Royalty, including a Queen, Junior Queen, Prince and Princess. The festival ends with the Royalty Coronation Ball at the Yukon Czech Hall. Everyone is welcome to dance the night away to the music of the live bands.

3. Farfalla

Farfalla is a family-owned winery in Yukon, Oklahoma. The winery uses latest technology in winemaking. In addition, a careful selection of grapes and a meticulous approach to winemaking method resulted in very intriguing and flavorful wines.

Over the years, the winery has refined their selection to less variety but of the highest quality Oklahoma wines. The winery and tasting room are open to the public two weekends per month. Visitors can sit in the tasting room or poolside on the patio and sample the best Farfalla has to offer. It is one of the most peaceful spots in Canadian County, great place to bring some friends, taste some wine and bring a few bottles home.

4. Yukon Czech Hall

Yukon Czech Hall was built in 1899 by early Czech settlers, members of Sokol Karel Havlicek Lodge and Western Fraternal Life Association Lodge Jan Žižka No. 67. The original building was replaced in 1925 by the current structure.

The Hall, also called Bohemian Hall, was and still is the focal point of Czech social and musical life in Oklahoma. It was always the location of traditional weddings, reunions, and family gatherings. The hall is best known for the Czech dances, which have been taking place on Saturday night since 1925.

The annual Yukon Czech Festival in October is in part taking place in the Hall. The building is a national and state historic site, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
