Review & FAQ:
Lake Okeechobee is one of the most popular fishing lakes in Florida.
The name is derived from the indigenous words “oki” and “chobi” which mean Big Water, and this is another of the great US lakes where big water means big fish.
The enormous lake covers over 700 square miles in southeastern Florida and offers anglers a huge selection of spots from which to last a line or launch a boat.
Commonly caught species include largemouth bass, crappie, bream and bluegill.
Depending on your level of skill you can use bait or flies to tempt your catch onto the hook. Bag limits are restricted to 5 bass and 20 crappie per day.
