Lake Berryessa is the largest lake in California’s Napa County, formed to take the overflow from the Monticello Dam.
The lake offers excellent fishing opportunities, close to all the wonderful activities on offer in the Napa Valley.
The fish to seek on this lake include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and striped bass, catfish, carp, crappie, rainbow trout and salmon.
Although large parts of the lake are utilized for motorized water sports there are some more peaceful spots to cast a line – consider heading to Markley Cove, Capell Cove or Portuguese Point.
If you are not planning to eat your catch you are requested to use barbless hooks and practice “catch and release” sport fishing.
