Started in 1980 in a bid to diversify the variety of plants on the university campus, the University of Idaho Arboretum and Botanical Garden has grown by leaps and bounds. When you visit today you can expect to find 63 acres of lush green gardens which showcase over 17,000 plants.

The garden contains geographical groupings of plants from Asia, Europe, Eastern North America and Western North America. In addition there are several display gardens which demonstrate how various plants can best be incorporated into your home garden. The Arboretum and Botanical Garden is free to visit and is open to the public all year round.
