Started in 1980 in a bid to diversify the variety of plants on the university campus, the University of Idaho Arboretum and Botanical Garden has grown by leaps and bounds. When you visit today you can expect to find 63 acres of lush green gardens which showcase over 17,000 plants.
The garden contains geographical groupings of plants from Asia, Europe, Eastern North America and Western North America. In addition there are several display gardens which demonstrate how various plants can best be incorporated into your home garden. The Arboretum and Botanical Garden is free to visit and is open to the public all year round.

The regular Saturday Farmer’s Market (from May through October) has been a much-loved part of Moscow for over forty years and attracts a regular following of customers who come to stock up on fresh produce and enjoy the music.
The market offers vendors the opportunity of introduce the public to their artisan products and produce which includes fruit and vegetables, meat, cheese, wines and much more.
There is also a craft section where distinctive hand-made goods are showcased. There is plenty to see, do and taste and you will need to give yourself enough time to see everything on display.

Occupying a landmark position in downtown Moscow, the Kenworthy Performing Arts Center is a much-loved performance venue.
Housed in a beautiful old building which dates back to 1926, the theater can accommodate 330 guests and boasts a 1000 square foot stage. Although the setting is historic, the auditorium has all the necessary modern technology to host a wonderful assortment of plays, concerts, opera and film. If you stay near-by you can buy a season pass and attend as my shows as you like. Visitors are also very welcome and tickets are reasonably priced. The museum chronicles the history of the Appaloosa Horse, from its origins here in Palouse Country as well as the history of the Appaloosa Horse Club which was established in 1938. The center offers a variety of educational programs for children including An Introduction to Horses (for younger children up to 6 years of age) and the Appaloosa and Regional History program for children aged 8 years and up. The museum is free to visit and is open from Monday through Saturday.

The Prichard Art Gallery forms part of the College of Art and Architecture at the University of Idaho.
The impressive interior of the gallery was designed and renovated by Professor of Architecture William Bowler and his students in 1986 and hosts many exhibitions by local artists throughout the year. In addition to these exhibitions the gallery holds regular arts workshops and courses for children and adults.
These cover a diverse selection of artistic endeavors including jewelry making, bookmaking and creative writing as well as painting. The Gallery is free to visit but donations are always welcome to help fund their art outreach programs.
