Vis Major Brewing was opened by Tom and Lindsey Clements in 2017, named after the Latin term for act of God. The brewery strives to bring an artisan eye to all of its ale recipes, crafting brews that highlight nuances of complexity and taste. Its Omaha tap room is located within the city’s restored Clanton’s Foods building and offers pints and to-go sales of its year-round and seasonal beers, which focus on Belgian styles, fruit-forward ales, and regional IPA variants.
Popular beers include its Kinsfolk Belgian Saison, If This Be Treason New England IPA, Wild Honey Pie Sweet Cherry and Honey Ale, and Eden Shade Apricot Ale. A full cocktail menu is also available, along with a kitchen menu highlighting specialty pizzas and bar snacks. Behind-the-scenes brewery tours are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays for participants ages 14 and older.
