Encompassing almost 1,000 acres in Smith County, Tyler State Park offers 13 miles of trails, plenty of wildlife, and a 64-acre lake that can be used for fishing and boating. Canoes, kayaks, and standup paddleboards can be rented from the park store, and fishing rods and reels can be borrowed as well. There are also three fishing piers if you'd rather stay on dry land. Visitors who want to spend the night in the park have their pick of campsites, and cabins and screened shelters are available for anyone who wants a bit more comfort.
