Tucked away in the forested hills outside Waco, Meridian State Park is a wonderfully peaceful park that attracts nature lovers from all over the state. The centerpiece of the park is its 72-acre lake, which is encircled by an excellent hiking trail dotted with limestone fossils and beautiful viewpoints. The water is perfect for swimming and fishing, and no-wake boating is permitted as well. Boats can be rented on-site if you don't have your own. Cabins and screened shelters are available for rent, and if you'd like to camp, you can choose between primitive sites and ones with full hookups.
