Located right next to a scenic lake on the Colorado River, Inks Lake State Park is only an hour away from Austin. Boating and water skiing are two of the most popular activities, but there's also a no-wake zone reserved for paddling. Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats can be rented on-site. If you'd rather stay on dry land, you can explore the park's nine miles of hiking trails, spend some time hiding in the bird blind, or fish from the pier. When it comes to overnight accommodation, visitors have their pick of cabins and campsites, many of which are right on the water.
