Genesee River's High Falls area in Rochester, New York is considered to be a historic district. The area has been developed by the city to let visitors view the High Falls itself from every angle, as well as to learn about Brown’s Race and its history as a channel constructed for diverting water to run parallel to the river. High Falls is a waterfall that drops approximately 96 feet and is a wider length than it is tall. Below the large waterfall is an extensive gorge that once had industrial mills stationed along it, which have now been refurbished.
