The Memphis Zoo is home to more than 3,500 animals from more than 500 species. The zoo has beautiful, modern exhibits that are modeled after the natural habitat of the animals. Seeing all of the exhibits on foot involves walking about 2 miles.
One highlight of the Memphis Zoo is the Giant Panda exhibit. A pair of pandas on loan from China, Ya Ya and Le Le, make Memphis one of only four zoos in the country to have Giant Pandas. The Memphis Zoo is also a popular place to host private events ranging from weddings with cocktails to toddler birthday parties and everything in between.
