A must-visit attraction for all gemologists, the Mines Museum of Earth Science attracts more than 30,000 visitors each year. The museum holds a massive collection of more than 40,000 items which are used to offer rotating exhibitions – there will always be something new to admire each time you visit. The most famous exhibit at the museum is a Goodwill moon rock, one of just two rocks collected during the Apollo 17 Moon Landing. The Indoor Cave is home to an amazing collection of gemstones including the Miss Colorado Crown, which boasts 21 diamonds and 600 other gemstones. You can also walk the outdoor Bob Weimer Trail to see actual tracks left by Triceratops dinosaurs.
